Mindfulness Meditation for Sleep & Relaxation

A 2-Session in-person workshop.

This workshop is for you:

  • if you are having trouble relaxing physically and mentally.
  • if you are going through a particularly busy or stressful time and are finding it difficult to fall and stay asleep.
  • if you would like to learn simple, effective, and healthy ways to relax the body and calm the mind so you can sleep.

About the Workshop:

When you’re feeling stressed, anxious, or have a mind full of racing thoughts it can interfere with your ability to relax… let go…and sleep properly at night. Unfortunately, occasional scenarios like these can easily to turn into a chronic unhealthy sleep habit!

Mindfulness meditation has been proven to aid in helping you get off the hamster wheel of struggle so you can relax and get a good night’s sleep. Mindfulness and meditation practices remind the body how to relax and help free us from our over-thinking mind – allowing us to drift into (and fall back to) sleep.

In this workshop you’ll:

  • Learn how mindfulness and meditation practices can help you let go of daily physical stress and remind your body how to relax and rest.
  • Learn how meditation can improve the quality of your sleep.
  • Experience meditations that help you release physical stress and calm the thinking mind at bedtime, or in the middle of the night.
  • Learn 2 simple, effective breath techniques to reduce physical and mental stress or anxiety – at any time!
  • Receive 2 recorded guided meditations to use at night.
  • Get mindfulness practices to use during the day and night.

Notes:

  • No previous experience of mindfulness or meditation is needed.
  • This workshop will be held in-person only.
  • Participants are encouraged to wear loose clothing, bring a water bottle and blanket, if desired.
  • Yoga mats and bolsters can be provided.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to 7 pm start.
  • This workshop is intended for people who occasionally struggle with relaxing and falling to sleep, especially during stressful times and aims to prevent rather than treat insomnia.
  • The workshop is not a substitute for medical or psychotherapeutic consultation or intervention.
